About

Beginning counselling is a big deal! It is a place for you to ask hard questions, deepen your understanding of yourself and your relationships, and learn new ways of working with your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. It is a place for you to reconnect with your knowing. Through the ways that are most meaningful to you, Laura will support you in discovering and navigating both the toughness and fullness of life. She is so glad you made your way here!

Laura draws on different philosophies and perspectives in her counselling work, though most importantly, she embraces people as their whole selves and honours their unique experiences. She attends to what is coming up for you moment to moment in your thoughts, feelings, and in your body. Her approach to counselling is creative and integrative, where she also shows up as her authentic self: curiously and honestly.

The counselling process is different for every client, though there are some values that Laura brings to her work: she believes that we all have the capacity to move through hard change and the most meaningful change happens when we are in connection with others. Her relationship with clients means the most to her!

Laura holds an M.Sc. from Dalhousie University in Community Health & Epidemiology and an M.Ed. in Counselling from Acadia University. She enjoys working with young and older adults, and is passionate about somatic-based and trauma-informed practices.
